Abstract

This article explores the importance and scope of the English language in today's globalized world. The paper presents a literature review of the historical, social, and linguistic aspects of the English language, and its current use, teaching, and learning. English has undeniably become the lingua franca of the modern world and it is spoken by millions of people around the globe. With over 1.5 billion people using it as a first, second, or foreign language, English surpasses national borders, enabling communication across diverse cultures, industries, and disciplines and article enables us to discover the development of English and its influence to the whole world.
