Abstract

This article explores the evolution of slang related to friendship in English and Uzbek, highlighting the cultural influences shaping each language. English slang, influenced by youth culture, features terms like "BFF" and "bestie," reflecting individualism and rapid evolution. In contrast, Uzbek slang, rooted in Turkic traditions and influenced by Persian and Russian languages. The analysis reveals that while English slang is dynamic and personal, Uzbek slang is deeply communal and culturally rich. Overall, the article illustrates how slang reflects social identities and the enduring significance of friendship across cultures.
