Abstract

A fundamental principle of educational institutions is academic integrity, which ensures that students produce work that is accurate and distinctive. However, there are still a lot of obstacles to preserving the integrity of academia because plagiarism is so prevalent. Consequently, the development of text-matching and software to identify plagiarism has become essential in the fight against this prevalent issue. This research looks at the problems and trends that text-matching technologies and plagiarism are now facing, with an emphasis on how they might support academic integrity. The first component talks about how plagiarism is changing, emphasizing how students are using sophisticated techniques to trick plagiarism detection software. Text-matching software is facing significant challenges from the likes of machine-generated material, fraudulent contract services, and online essay mills.
